Happy Valentine’s Day (or Happy Singles’ Awareness Day)!

Happy V-Day

Wishing you a romantic day, whether it’s with your beau or hubby or with a good g-friend or a romance book. Someone posted on Facebook today: Happy Love Yourself Day. Now that sounds perfect! You need to love yourself when in or out of a relationship. Don’t completely lose yourself in someone else. In romance novels, we don’t want to erase who our hero and heroine were before they met each other. Instead they compliment each other, bring healing to …

Blame It on the Full Moon?

Werewolf of London

(Originally posted by me on Kayelle Allen’s Romance Lives Forever blog) Lycanthropy is “the change of man or woman into the form of a wolf, either through magical means…or through judgment of the gods in punishment for some great offence,” according to Sabine Baring-Gould in The Book of Werewolves. In The Complete Book of Werewolves (yes, similar titles) by Leonard R. N. Ashley he states: “The werewolf is an outcast, shunned. Medieval laws stated that for certain crimes against society …

New Review for Blame It on the Night!

Thanks, Book Addicts! Here’s some highlights from the review by BA Cid: “Things I liked about the book? It was both exciting and sexy. A lot of erotic romances like this have a little bit of action tossed in around the sex. Not this book! There’s action, from fights to murders to the mystery and all the odd places Guy and Olivia end up at. There’s always something going on, and I loved that. The mystery elements of it were so …

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2012

As we wash off the dust from the old year and look forward to the new, I’ve been doing what I usually do at holiday time: journalling. Evaluating the effects of 2011′s choices and considering what I need to focus on in 2012. Instead of creating resolutions, I’m adding to and reordering my To-Do List. I think we all feel guilty about our weight and health after a month of sugar and chocolate binges, a gallon of eggnog, and several …

Awesome review for Blame It on the Night!

Night Owl Reviews

4 1/2 stars from Night Owl Reviews! “This book was good, Lanel made the plot juicy and addicting.” It goes on to say: “The pack of Guy has one simple rule never get involved with a human or suffer the consequences which was new to me. I’ve never read a book that had that type of plot in the werewolves genre. Anyways I really enjoyed reading this book, it was different from what I’ve read before and enjoyed it.” Get …

Making Christmas

greens1

Well, I’ve been trying out the olde way of Christmas. Met Father Christmas, drank hot mulled cider from a cauldron, tried to make a kissing ball, and explored Agecroft Hall, a Tudor style house brought over from England in the early 20th century. The downstairs rooms were furnished as they would have been in the 1600-1700s, while the upstairs library showed how Christmas would have been celebrated in the manor house in WWII.  A little piece of England just a …

Happy 48th Birthday, Doctor Who!

David Tennant

Since I got hooked on Doctor Who–the first episode I ever saw was the one about the Queen’s coronation and the lady sucking faces through TV screens–I’ve had many folks ask me what it’s about, like it’s simply a show with a premise. It’s far beyond a show. It can grow into an obsession for some, but I’d say I’m not…quite…there yet. But it’s also nostalgia for all those kids (British) who grew up watching Doctor Who from the time …

Finger Exercise

I recently signed onto Twitter. A friend told me to. I said, well, what do I do once I’m signed up? “Start following people.” Who? “Anyone–then people will start following you.” I was such a newbie I wasn’t even sure why I’d want them following me, but with my new book release I was game to try new methods to spread the word.  After a couple of weeks I’m now following well over two hundred folks and have 70+ following …
